Marianna Mott Newirth is a NY based librettist & creative producer.

Libretti include: t-o-u-c-h (Carla Lucero @ Opera Birmingham); Mechanisms (J.E. Hernández @ OTSL’s New Works Collective); and Fluffernutter (Spicer Carr @ Opera Praktikos) and numerous shorter works. Newirth, as co-founder & Executive Producer of Opera Praktikos, has presented 5 mainstage works including: Orlando (Handel) in a community garden on the Lower East Side; There-Will-Be-Cak-! in the bar of a comedy club and; The-Spoon-Theory-Song-Cycle at National Opera Center.

From 2021 to 2023 Newirth served as president of the New York Opera Alliance (NYOA). She trained in the BMP Producer’s Academy, studied puppetry with Sandglass Theater and is certified in Audio Description. Newirth holds an MA in Media Studies from The New School and serves as a guest professor at Mannes School of Music and Hunter College.
